Challenge 25 Policy

You are welcome to place an order than contains alcohol through our service. Our drivers will collect and deliver your order with our customary dedication to timeliness and excellence. Please be aware, however, that we instruct our drivers to implement the Challenge 25 policy when deliveries include alcohol.

What is Challenge 25?

Challenge 25 is a retail policy in operation throughout the UK. It advises vendors to challenge anybody who looks younger than 25 to produce proof of age before supplying alcohol.

This policy is implemented by our drivers, so if you are lucky enough to look this young, please be prepared to show a valid ID upon arrival of your delivery.

How Does Challenge 25 Work?

When you drive arrives with your order, they will ask to see photo ID that contains your date of birth. For the avoidance of doubt, this ID must match the name on the order – and, obviously, it must be your own!

The following documents are considered an acceptable proof of age under the Challenge 25 criteria.

• • Valid photographic driving license
• • PASS ID card
• • EU or EEA member state national identity card

We advise our drivers not to accept any other form of ID, so please have one of these to hand. If you are not in possession of any of these documents, please do not attempt to order alcohol through our service as refusal can offend.

We instruct our drivers to never leave orders that contain alcohol unattended, so you must be present to accept the order and prove your age. If you cannot or will not accept the delivery in person, it will not be completed.

What Happens if I Cannot Prove My Age?

Your driver will not supply alcohol to any customer unless a valid ID and proof of age are produced. If you cannot prove your age, you can claim any items that do not contain alcohol or cancel the entire order.

If your order cannot be fulfilled due to an inability to produce ID, please accept this. Our drivers are personally liable for the supply of alcohol to private citizens. They cannot be expected to place themselves at risk of legal ramifications.

Please also be aware that we have a zero-tolerance policy surrounding verbal or physical abuse of our drivers. If you behave in an inappropriate way following a refusal to supply alcohol, your account may be suspended or blocked without further warning.

Advice for Drivers

Be aware of the rules surrounding Challenge 25, in addition to the Licensing Act of 2003. You will be liable for supply of alcohol to an individual below the age of 18, or any other illegal activity. This includes providing alcohol to somebody that is already intoxicated. You also must not complete a delivery if you believe the account holder is purchasing alcohol on behalf of underage consumers.

If you abide by the Challenge 25 rules, you will not run into any legal difficulty. If you have any doubts at all as to the validity of an ID, or the intention of the recipient, do not complete the order. Contact the support team and we will take over to find a solution.
